Soror Dolorosa - Trembling Androgyneous

En av förra årets bästa låtar enligt mitt tycke...:

Catherine's Cathedral : Razorius (Intoxication)

Catherines Cathedral was a gothic rock band in Sweden in the mid 1990’s. According to their entry in the discogs database they had released three albums; Flowerdust (1993), Intoxication (1994), and Equilibrium (1995) (the last two being signed under the Noxious Records label).

NO MAN´S LAND - Falling into the Night

The band was formed in 1989 in Kenigsberg (Kaliningrad) by Eugene Lebedev and Andrew Timofeyev. Two years later they recorded their first demo, "Rain"; after that they change the name of the band to "Constant Dream". In 1992 they record their second demo, "The Dull Opera". During the next few years, new demos were published regularly ("Cold", "Keeping Silent") and in 1995 they changed the name of the band to No Man's Land and recorded another demo, "Deepest Dream". (In Vladimir Igoshin's (producer of Romowe Rikoito) opinion, all NML's creative works up to year 1995 had nothing to do with "gothic" music; instead, it was closer to "Russian rock"). In 1996 the band recorded their gothic rock album, "Garden of Love", most of the songs were in English. During the following year the band worked in the same stream and published a demo album "Tears" with melodic "gothic" music in 1997. After a long period of silence the band changed the name to "London / Paris" and started to join the pop stage, according to our data. What you find in Russian Gothic Compilation, is the song "Falling into Night" from their last album, "Tears".

Fields Of The Nephilim - ‘CEROMONIES’ - March 19th, 2012

FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM (CEROMONIES) Preview from SHEERFAITH on Vimeo.

PENETRATION (FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM) from SHEERFAITH on Vimeo.

Fields Of The Nephilim have unveiled the first track from their forthcoming ‘Ceromonies’ project. ‘Penetration’ is a dazzling assault on the senses; a ferocious blast of machine-gun strobes and billowing dry-ice that switches between vivid colours and intense monochromatic flashes, set to a precise, brutal and ritualistic soundtrack.

A demonstration of their dark power which first featured on the ‘
Zoon’ album, ‘Penetration’ is an example of the Nephilim at their most extreme, a track which welds the jackhammer rhythms and guttural roar of that album’s industrial vision to the chiming guitars and dramatic melodies for which they are most widely known.

Whilst other tracks such as the elegaically beautiful epic ‘Wail Of Sumer / And There Will Your Heart Be Also’ from the ‘Elizium’ period demonstrate the softer, more atmospheric moments in their canon, and the likes of ‘Moonchild’, ‘Preacher Man’ and ‘Psychonaut’ represent some of the band’s biggest hits, ‘Penetration’ is a unexpected shot of adrenaline straight to the heart.

Long-awaited and much anticipated by the Nephilim’s faithful fans, ‘Ceromonies’ will now be released on March 19
th. This new date comes after an inferno which engulfed frontman Carl McCoy’s studio as he put the final touches to the project. With the damage contained and all ‘Ceromonies’ complete, it emerges from the fire into the world on March 19th.

A special limited-edition ‘
Collector’s Box’ of the entire ‘Ceromonies’ project containing the double-CD live album, the live concert DVD, double-vinyl pressing and an exclusive array of Nephilim merchandise and artefacts, presented in a  beautifully designed and branded wooden box, will be available to pre-order shortly via the Nephilim Online Store.
The release of ‘Ceromonies’ closes the chapter on Fields Of The Nephilim’s past and signals their reactivation as a potent force to come. With European performances confirmed this summer including a prestigious mainstage slot at Germany’s massive
M’era Luna festival preceding headliners Placebo, and exciting live announcements soon to be made, the Nephilim will be performing a new set of classics and surprises.

‘Ceromonies' was recorded over two sell-out shows at London's
Shepherds Bush Empire and features songs from all stages of Fields Of The Nephilim’s career from their earliest recordings such as 'Trees Come Down' to their most recent studio album 'Mourning Sun'.

Beautifully edited and directed by
Carl McCoy at his visual production company, Sheerfaith, the DVD is a striking example of why this most elusive and mysterious of bands has been revered for so long and represents a breath-taking document of the band’s musical dominance over metal, gothic and industrial music for the past three decades.

The double-CD set - only the second live album the band have ever released and a perfect companion to its live predecessor, 1991's legendary '
Earth Inferno' - is a sensory treat; the enormous sound and brooding instrumentation of the band bursting forth from the speakers, crowned with McCoy's haunting incantations and tour-de-force vocals.

'Ceromonies' is released as a 3-disc digipack, featuring the double CD live album and DVD, a two-disc vinyl album, a digital download album featuring the bonus track '
Last Exit For The Lost' and as a limited-edition ‘Collector’s Box’ featuring all of the above and a wealth of extra artefacts.

Fields of The Nephilim will be announcing details of brand new studio recordings later this year.

Love Club - One Last Kiss

Love Club was a San Francisco-based goth band of the 1980s and 1990s, originally founded and fronted by vocalist and pianist Deborah Borchers, with guitarist Lawrence Doyle. They are perhaps most notable for Borchers' vocals, and for being one of a very few bands signed by Sandy Pearlman to his Popular Metaphysics label. Under that label's co-branding contract with MCA Records, Love Club released one nine-song album, "Lime Twigs and Treachery", in 1990.

Devil Doll - Sacrilegium

album: "Sacrilegium" (1992)

Information about the entity known as "Devil Doll" is a purposely well kept secret. "Devil Doll" is the name of an Italian - Slovenian) band created in 1987 by a mysterious figure known only as Mr. Doctor: The mysterious mastermind of "Devil Doll". During the past two decades he has been releasing his work exclusively to a small scale of loyal fans, and those in the know. All of his albums comprise a varied mixture of Classical, Theatrical, Gothic, Avantgarde, Symphonic Rock Music, Progressive Rock, et cetera. Not only is Mr. Doctor a musical genius, he has also made 3 films & composed the scores for each film, most of which are still unreleased to this day. There are also over 900 minutes from the "Dies Irae" recording sessions still unreleased to this day. Whether or not this vast treasure of rare material will ever see the light of day still remains to be seen, but we can hope. Mr. Doctor is also responsible for the "Devil Doll" artwork of the album covers & the various album liner artwork. Mr. Doctor seems to prefer that the works of "Devil Doll" be somewhat difficult to obtain. He has reportedly burned many of the debut "Devil Doll" LP's simply to reduce the stock. The debut 1987 Devil Doll project entitled "The Mark of the Beast" was only released as a single copy & has never been repressed. Many Devil Doll projects such as: "Mr. Doctor sings Hanns Eisler", "The Carnival of Souls", "The Fall of the House of Usher (Soundtrack)" & "The Day of Wrath (Soundtrack)" also still have never been released. Many of the ultra rare club releases are next to impossible to obtain due to how extremely limited they were. "Devil Doll" albums are still fairly difficult to obtain unless you know exactly where to look for them. The music of Devil Doll is quite arduous to describe, so if your interests are piqued and you would like to know more about the mystery of "Devil Doll" you'll really need to find their albums and judge for yourself
